I'm having trouble installing Autobahn.

Does your username contain extended characters?

Usernames containing special characters ($!@&* etc) have been known to cause problems with the installation of Autobahn.

Workaround: Uninstall Autobahn from the existing account, then create a new user account that doesn't contain any special characters, and retry Autobahn installation.

Does your user account have Administrative privileges?

Attempting to install Autobahn from an account that doesn't have Administrative privileges can sometimes cause problems.

Workaround: Try installing the latest version of Autobahn.

I've installed Autobahn, but the site that requires it can't detect it.

Are you behind a proxy?

Proxy servers can prevent Autobahn from working properly.

Workaround: Adjust your browser's proxy settings to add an exception for Autobahn.

Are you using a Sony Vaio laptop?

Workaround: Update to the latest version of Autobahn.

Are you using Hide IP NP?

Hide IP NP is known to cause conflicts with Autobahn.

Workaround: Update to the latest version of Autobahn.

Are you using Verizon Wireless/Venturi?

Verizon Wireless/Venturi is known to cause conflicts with Autobahn.

Workaround: Update to the latest version of Autobahn.

Are you hosting a Quicktime Streaming Server?

Quicktime Streaming Server is known to cause conflicts with Autobahn.

Workaround: Update to the latest version of Autobahn.

Are you behind a proxy?

Proxy servers can prevent Autobahn from working properly.

Workaround: Adjust your network interface's proxy settings to add an exception for Autobahn.

Are you using ReachMyFile?

ReachMyFile is known to cause conflicts with Autobahn because it uses the same port.

Workaround: Update to the latest version of Autobahn.

Are you hosting a Quicktime Streaming Server?

Quicktime Streaming Server is known to cause conflicts with Autobahn.

Workaround: Update to the latest version of Autobahn.

Are you using a 3rd party personal firewall?

Software firewalls can prevent Autobahn from connecting to video content.

Workaround: Disable your personal firewall to see if its causing the problem.

My browser crashes while watching Autobahn-delivered content.

Because Autobahn isn't a browser plug-in, it is highly unlikely that Autobahn is causing your browser to crash.

Workarounds: Make sure your browser and plugins (Flash, etc) are updated. Try viewing the same content in a different browser.

My operating system crashes while watching Autobahn-delivered content.

Are you using a Kaspersky product?

This is an issue primarily for Kaspersky users under 64 bit operating systems but may also effect Kaspersky users under 32 bit operating systems. The Kaspersky filter driver, which is part of the Kaspersky anti-virus package, crashes causing a blue screen.

Workaround: We advise user to uninstall Kaspersky anti-virus as a workaround until Kaspersky is able to release a fix for this issue. Users may also wish to contact Kaspersky directly regarding a resolution.
